The 1831 is exclusive in that it's the rarest reference of Rolex available to hold it its very own movement.
Only 8 pieces were available, all on special order through the late Shah of Iran within the 1970s. All were created in Platinum.

Nr. 1 is made from a blue dial and it was auctioned by Phillips in 2016 in the Rolex Milestone purchase in HK for $225’000 formerly within the ‘My way’ collection.
Nr. 2 is really a red lacquer Burgundy stella dial (similar to the watch above) and sits within the private assortment of JG.
Nr. 4 is made from a white-colored dial and it was auctioned by Christies this year achieving a direct result CHF 165’000.
Nr. 5 may be the watch above created using a red lacquer Burgundy Stella dial and it was auctioned by Phillips in the ‘Daydate’ purchase in 2015 for CHF 300’000.
